When Fall Comes Early, Go For (Rose) Gold

August always presents a strange quandary in the land of beauty. Summer is at its hottest, yet jewel-toned shadows and deep wine lipsticks are beginning to hit shelves at our favorite makeup emporiums, as if to remind us that, yes, colder temperatures are on the way

The fact that the warm weather came late this year makes the whole thing all the more exasperating, but certain transitional items have recently debuted to help diffuse the situation with their season-spanning (and budget-friendly) qualities. Benefit Cosmetics’ One Hot Minute and Estée Lauder’s Gilded Rose Marbelized Shimmer Powder both produce a glow that’s more September rose gold than midsummer bronze. These, we can handle. The hunter green eyeliners and plum mascaras are another story.
