Yesterday Paloma Faith joined Dizzee Rascal and Tessa Sanderson-White when she carred the Olympic Flame through London. The singer brought her own inevitable style to proceedings by customising her Olympic outfit to give it a classic 1950s twist. What made her attempt more unusual however, was the fact that she wore six inch platform heels on her mission. Most people might consider donning a pair of comfy flat trainers to run with the Torch, but not Paloma Faith. The singer threw caution to the wind and put style over substance when she joined the Olympic mission.
Yesterday happened to be a double celebration for Paloma: it was also her 26th birthday. The singer wrote on Twitter in the morning: 'Thank you all for your birthday wishes today! I'm going to carry the Olympic torch today. Biggest candle I've ever blown out!'
Paloma carried the torch through the London Borough of Newham where a carnival atmosphere filled the streets. The crowds surged forward and cheered when she took hold of the torch and tottered down the roads.
Despite her attire, Paloma managed to pick up her pace as she ran with the Flame's protectors.

Paloma passes the Flame to Torchbearer Sheikh Sheikh, who carried it on through the next stage in Newham. It was later picked up by Dizzee Rascal in Hackney, who high-fived members of the crowd and whistled and cheered as he jogged his leg of the relay.
